About Armadillo Collective

After working at the ground floor of numerous New England based production companies, Alexandra Morrow found herself at a crossroads. Does this work align with her values — both in terms of her relationships to people and creative collaborators?

Motivated by the unsustainable practices she witnessed in the industry and inspired by a vision for a more conscious and ethical approach, she founded Armadillo Collective, named in loving memory of her Grandmom, Alice.

At Armadillo Collective, how we make films is just as important as what we make. We are deeply intentional about our process, respecting time, budgets, and, most importantly, people’s boundaries.

We reject the "run and gun" mentality that has long been normalized in production culture. Instead, we cultivate environments that prioritize collaboration, consent, and care. Every voice is valued, and space is held for boundary-setting.

Our teams are built deliberately and scaled with intention based on budget, timeline, and subject matter. We never pressure anyone to share more than they’re comfortable with. In fact, we believe "no" is not a limitation; it is the beginning of creative collaboration.

We work closely with participants to understand how they want their stories to be told. And if they choose not to share their story, we honor that decision without question.

Every project is an opportunity to learn and grow through the stories, perspectives, and communities we engage with. We believe that sitting in nuance creates the conditions for meaningful, resonant storytelling both on and off screen.
